Today we were docked in Helsingborg, Sweden. We had not been here previously. We arrived at noon and the only way out of the port is to take a shuttle bus if you are not on an excursion. So, we had lunch on board rather than having Swedish meatballs in town and then headed into the city. The shuttle bus dropped us by a big square where Linda got in a game on mini golf.
We then walked past the city hall and through the city.
We then arrived at our next destination - the Karnan Tower. It was a climb of about 135 steps to get to the base of the tower and the adjacent park
Up we went to get some good views.
Then came decision time. Do I climb the 146 steps to the top of the tower? It was a tough decision but, the entry fee was 100 Swedish Krona and I had an old 100 Krona note burning a hole in my wallet, so
I decided to do it. Afterwards, I did some Googling and found that the 2016 Greta Garbo note is worth about $20 (or 200 Krona)!

Anyway, despite giving up that big windfall, it was worth it to make the climb.
After climbing down, I hooked back up with Linda to explore the Rose Garden and the Flower Walkway in the park. Unfortunately, we were a little early for the roses and they were just planting the Flower Walkway.
Then came the next decision point. We had read about an indoor zoo that sounded fascinating. It was a bit of a walk and being outdoors was too nice (the temperature was in the mid 60's with brilliant sunshine). So, we opted to walk around some more. We made our way to the Sankta Maria Kyrka.
After the church, we walked some more on the pedestrian shopping street before catching the shuttle bus back to the ship.
We really enjoyed Helsingborg with its nice architecture and beautiful weather. We'll have to return some day.
Sweden brings the country count to 7.
After going from cold weather to this warm weather, it is sometimes a challenge to decide what to wear. I started out with a light shirt over my t-shirt. I removed the outer shirt before climbing the tower. I fear that I violated Rule of Civility Number 7 since there were other people around when I removed it!
Put not off your cloths in the presence of others, nor go out your chamber half dressed
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
