Monday we were in Cartagena for the 4th time. With our excursion being cancelled and the weather being hot, we decided to not go into the city. We just walked to the garden at the port which has many tropical birds, monkeys, tortoises, iguanas and a sloth. And many people from the large Carnival ship. Here's a sampling of what we saw.
I made the mistake of having a parrot walk up my arm to my shoulder. The sharp talons drew blood!
The highlight of the day came that evening when we had dinner in Red Ginger with the GM Gabby and the head housekeeper, Valentina. Let me explain what made it extra special. In Red Ginger on this ship and on her sister ship Allura, there is a small room in the back of the restaurant that just seats 4 people. Ever since the initial cruise of Vista, we have frequently been seated in that room. So, since then, we have been joking with staff that they should place a plaque in there designating it as our private room. The previous evening, we had dinner with the Food and Beverage Manager, Branko and, once again we "complained" that the plaque was still not there. Look what was there when we went to dinner last night!
Today, as I am writing this, we are transiting the Panama Canal. I'll do a report on it tomorrow.
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
