Coping in Copenhagen

It was a beautiful Saturday in Copenhagen - temperature near 70 and bright sunshine.  It was a turnaround day for the ship and they offered a shuttle bus for the continuing guests.  The bus dropped us very near the Little Mermaid.  More on that later.

From the shuttle bus stop we walked through the Citadel to get into the city.

From there, our destination was the big pedestrian street, Stroget.

It was about a 45 minute walk to get there, so it was time for cortados and macarons.

Refreshed, we continued on to the Christiansborg Palace.

And then it was time for our real destination - Nyhavn for lunch.

We walked back to the shuttle bus through the Citadel again.  There was some kind of event underway and a nice display of Ferraris.

That pretty much completed our day in Copenhagen, one of our favorite cities to visit.  Observant readers may have noticed that we did not visit the Little Mermaid, despite the bus stop being so close.  That was very deliberate.  Let's just say that we think the Little Mermaid is the world's most overrated tourist attraction.  However, if, Dear Reader, you feel deprived by our lack of a visit let me include photos from the last time we visited in 2021.

With our stop in Denmark, the country count is now 8.  Tomorrow we'll add Germany.

In looking back at our photos, I have noticed (and you, too, may have noticed) that we are always smiling.  That is because we adhere to Rule of Civility Number 19 and, since we pay little attention to the news while traveling, there are few grave matters to consider.  And that's how we coped in Copenhagen and everywhere else!

Let your countenance be pleasant but in serious matters somewhat grave.

Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
