A Return to Lisbon

Here we are in Lisbon again.  We were here in 2018, 2021, 2022 and a couple of other times.  Our first destination was the kiosk (Quiosque das Portas do Sol) in Alfama above the port.  It's our tradition to stop there for coffee and pastel de nata.

On the way off the ship we ran into Claudine, Rollie and Neli.  They joined us for the climb up and to indulge.

It's also a great photo spot.

After that, Linda and I walked around Alfama a bit before heading down to central Lisbon.

One new thing that was noticeable since our last visit is the proliferation of Tuk Tuk's.

Eventually, we made our way to the pedestrian street.

It was certainly much busier in Lisbon today than it was in Silves yesterday!  We walked up to the big square and then to the tinned fish shop.  We're looking forward to having a tinned fish get together when we get home.

Then it was time to walk back to the pedestrian street for another of our Lisbon traditions - bacalhau and port (with an addition of cheesy sheep this time).

Before walking back to the ship, we had to indulge in our favorite international gelato - Amorino.

It was an outing of about 4 hours covering almost 5 miles including a tough stair climb to get up to Alfama.  Linda continues to do great.  I'm very impressed and proud of her!

Tomorrow will be our last Portuguese port - Oporto.

With the crowds in Lisbon, it is obvious that we are in season and therefore did not violate Rule of Civility number 55 - Eat not in the streets, nor in the house, out of season.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
