Lulea Plus a Bonus Sea Day

You can unbuckle - this is going to be a short one!  Monday we were in Lulea, Sweden, another new port for us.  The day started out overcast with rain in the forecast.  We took an early shuttle bus into the city but didn't quite beat the rain.  The bus dropped us near the pedestrian street where there were many vendors.  We took a short walk as the rain started and tried to see the buildings that a website recommended.  Then we ducked into a store for a bit of browsing out of the rain.

We then walked back to the shuttle bus stop and went back to the ship.  It was a half-hour visit to Lulea.  It might have been a good place to visit if the weather had been better.

The highlight of the day came later.  We were supposed to sail at 4:00 pm, but at 5:00 we still hadn't left.  Then the captain came on and told us that, due to the winds, the port had been closed and we would not be sailing until 10:00 pm.  And that meant that we could not make the next port, Sundsvall, Sweden.  It would be a welcome sea day!

The sea day was quite relaxing.  The only disappointment was that we did not win at bingo.  Next up is Stockholm.

The past two days made it easy to adhere to Rule of Civility Number 88:

Be not tedious in discourse, make not many digressions, nor repeat often the same manner of discourse.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry

  1. You have not had much rain! A day or two of cool rainy weather is not bad in the northern climes!
