Isafjordur, the Return

Here we are in Isafjordur again.  After our usual leisurely start to the day, we switched things up and I took a long walk before lunch.  On our past visits, we walked to a waterfall west of town.  This time I decided to take a walk on the road out of town to the east.  After walking by the port and through town . . .

. . . I hit the road for about 2 miles.  The views included the fjord . . .

. . . some small waterfalls . . .

. . . and many flowers.  I had forgotten how many wild flowers there are in Iceland.  You just don't think of Iceland as being a garden spot!

Back in town, I walked through some of the streets and saw the charming houses and other sights.

I discovered another bounce pad.  Apparently that's a thing in Iceland and once again the little girl would not let me bounce on it!

After lunch, Linda joined me for a walk.  In the morning, it was cool out but the wind was gentle and the walking was comfortable.  By the time we got out in the afternoon, the wind had picked up to about 25 mph so it was much chillier with the 50 degree temperature.  Linda toughed it out for about a one mile walk - what a crusader!

Tomorrow, it's a new port - Akureyri, Iceland.  The forecast is for temps in the upper 50's - here's hoping!

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
