No Vineyard For Us!

This will be a quick one.  Today, Sunday, we were supposed to be anchored off Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard.  We had a rough night sailing from Portland - a few really good bumps during the night.  We knew that it might be tricky to tender in if the weather did not cooperate and, as we approached the island, it did not look good.  Lots of whitecaps.

It did look a little better later in the morning . . .

. . .  but the announcement soon came that, due to high winds and high swell, they could not safely operate tenders to get us into the port.  So we got a bonus day at sea.  While we were looking forward to another good seafood lunch, at least we were in the Vineyard a couple of years ago for about a week visiting our friends Sandy and Charlie.  Tomorrow it's The Big Apple!

Peace, blessings and crookedness,
Linda and Larry
