Everybody's Got a Cousin in Miami!

After a quiet sea day on Friday, we were docked in Miami on Saturday.  I got up early to do a walk/jog on deck and was greeted by a passing shower.  When it passed, it was just plain humid as dawn broke.

Through the morning it remained mostly overcast with occasional rain.

At around noon, Linda's cousin, Jerry, picked us up and took us to lunch in Aventura where he lives.  This has become a tradition when we are in Miami on a turnaround day.  We went to Mo's, a great deli where Linda finally had her bialy with whitefish salad and a sour pickle.  She was in heaven.

When we returned to the ship, it had been overrun with about 1000 travel agents and various corporate folks.  This is the 2 day Showcase Sailing for the Vista.  We spent some time around the pool deck hobnobbing with our friends from corporate including the big guys,  FDR and FDR, Jr.  Dinner was all assigned by the event planners and the regular guests who remained on board were asked to eat at the buffet or pizzeria. We opted for the pizzeria where it was blissfully quiet.

Today, Sunday, we had breakfast with our really good friends from corporate, Jessica and Geoff.  It is always so nice to catch up with them.

When this 2 day sailing was originally scheduled, today was supposed to be a stop at Great Stirrup Cay for a beach day.  That plan changed, I guess because they had too many events planned for the travel agents.  So, we have been sailing around between Miami and Bimini.

We are supposed to make a "technical stop" at Bimini to comply with the Jones Act which requires a stop at a port outside of the US.  There will be no going ashore there.

Tomorrow, it's back to Miami to disembark the travel agents and bring a regular contingent of guests on board.  Then it will be off to LA!

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
