Yesterday, Thursday, we flew from Barcelona to Rome. It was a smooth flight with views of Barcelona as we took off and more views as we flew over Sardinia with Corsica in the distance.
We have now flown on Vueling Air 3 times and the flights have all been good and on time. Vueling is the low cost airline of the company that owns Iberia Airlines and British Airways. We paid a little extra to get just a bit more legroom and for our luggage, but it was worth it.
We are staying at the airport Hilton. We opted to take a van into Trastevere for a stroll and for dinner. As we waited for the van, we saw Leonardo da Vinci offering the world the solar panels which he invented, I'm sure.
One thing that always strikes us as we step into Rome are the omnipresent Roman ruins.
We crossed the Tiber to get to Trastevere.
We set our sights on a restaurant, Tonnarello, that I had picked from searching on Google Maps. It had great reviews and their website indicated that you might have to wait a while for a table. They were right.
That's a lot of ruins!
