We arrived in Miami on Thursday morning to end the first cruise. The ship has been decorated for the upcoming Easter weekend.
The last night of the cruise we dined in Jacques and had one of our favorite dishes - the Bar en Croute (sea bass in a puff pastry). Always beautifully presented and always good.
Turnover day in Miami started with a change of suite, from one side of the ship to the other. They make it so easy to complete the move. We are elated to leave our whistling veranda door behind! After making our way through US immigration, we met outside with Linda's cousin Jerry, who was nice enough to schlep down from Aventura to see us. We had a good time catching up.
Back on board, we were honored to have lunch with 2 friends from the Oceania office, Jessica Domm-Pemberthy and Geoff Pemberthy. It's always a pleasure to see them. We look forward to seeing Jessica on Vista in a month!
As we sailed out of Miami last night, we were treated to a Moon Over Miami and, as we sailed into the Bahamas this morning we were treated to a Moon Over Nassau!
Today in Nassau, we went for a good long walk, mostly along the shoreline and then into town.
We walked up to the Bahamas Parliament building and found something interesting.
Do you see something missing? For comparison, here's a photo that someone posted on line 4 months ago:
I guess Chris has lost some popularity here!
In a bit, we'll be setting sail to really begin the crossing. Tomorrow is a day at sea that will be followed by a day in Bermuda. Then it'll be four sea days before we, hopefully, get to the Azores. It's an iffy port due to the winds. We've missed it once so maybe our luck will be with us this time.
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
Maybe they sank the statue to make a new reef?
