We're sitting in the Untied lounge at John Wayne Airport getting ready to embark on our next adventure.
We'll be taking a wine cruise in France on the Rhone and Saone on the AMACello with Page Springs Cellars and Pillsbury Wine Company. We think that this is the sixth wine cruise we've done with them. These cruises with Eric Glomski and Sam Pillsbury are always great - fun, educational, and did I mention the wine?
After a cancelled flight resulting in a change in itinerary everything seems to be in order for the 3 flights it will take to get to Lyon, France. Orange County to San Fransicso to Frankfurt, Germany to Lyon. After spending a night in a hotel at the Lyon airport we'll take a train (or 2 trains) to Arles to get on the ship. It will be a 7 day cruise after which Linda and I will spend a few days in Lyon. Our first night there will be Bastille Day for another round of fireworks (this time without our friends Yasuko and Mark who we watched July 4th fireworks with last night). There might even be a day trip from Lyon to Vienne to watch the Tour de France peleton go zipping by!
These cruises are usually packed with excursions and wine tastings, so I don't know how much time I'll have to keep the blog up to date, but I promise to try.
I have to say that I am looking forward to 2 weeks away from news of mass shootings, Jan. 6th hearings and Trump's sedition, and unfortunate Supreme Court rulings. That's the last I'll say about that for 2 weeks!

ReplyDeleteI'm in Stockholm finishing 13 days in Baltics with Tauck. Wonderful trip, including 7-day small ship cruise. Next is Nautica in three weeks, Lisbon-Barcelona.
