We've made it to Arles and the AmaCello with just enough drama to keep it interesting. Our long flight from San Fransisco to Frankfurt, which started with the traditional Mimosa toast,
arrived on time and we thought that things were going too smoothly given all of the horror stories about flying recently. And things were looking good in Frankfurt for our flight to Lyon until, well just let's say that the flight wound up being almost 2 hours late due to staffing issues. The good news was that we were staying at a hotel right in the airport so it was just a bit of a walk to get there and to grab a quick dinner and, of course, a glass of wine before turning in.This morning it was a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the train station but we still allowed ourselves some extra time to get there. That was a mistake as the train was 25 minutes late. By itself that wouldn't be much of an issue, but we did have a connecting train to catch in Avignon and the timing would now be close. You have to love being on board a comfortable train travelling at 175 mph!
And now we're relaxing before the hectic schedule of activites begins.
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
175, wow! Looks like a good start to your trip. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWow -- another adventure. Your optimism and ability to make lemonade (more likely limoncello) when you get lemons always makes me smile and think fondly of you both. Have a GREAT trip. xx
