ATW Day 95 - Lisbon

Wednesday we were in Lisbon yet again.  Somehow, we never get tired of being there even when we do the same things.  So, walking off the ship we made our traditional walk up the hill and stairs to Alfama.  Wednesday was Portugal National Day and we could see the remnants of the partying from the night before as we walked.  There are always interesting artworks and tiles to see on the walls of Alfama.

Once there, we stopped at our traditional kiosk for pastel de nata and coffee.

We then walked around a bit before heading down to the center of Lisbon.

We did take a different route down than we have in the past.

Once there, we walked up the big pedestrian/shopping street, Rua Augusta where we saw the obese Spiderman who is always there.

I have to say that the weather was absolutely perfect.  It might be our last real warm day as we are now heading up to the UK and Iceland.  After making it up to the Praca Dom Pedro we turned around to begin our traditional lunchtime dining experience - bacalhau and port at Casa Portuguesa (I was much happier than I took in the photo!), followed by gelato at Amorino, followed by pasteis de nata at Manteigaria, the best in town.

It was then time to head back to the ship.  As it turned out, the Oceania Nautica was docked next to our ship.  The Cruise Director on Nautica is our good friend Paul Baya and we met him by the port for a drink.  It was a great 1+ hour meet up.  The day was capped off by a dinner with the guest entertainer, singer Isabel Commandeur, her boyfriend, Rolf, CD Peter, and GM Gabby.  What a great way to end a beautiful day.

We now have 2 sea days to get to Le Havre, France on Saturday.  Our plan for Le Havre is to take the train to Rouen which we visited many years ago.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
