We're On An Expedition!

We are in Buenos Aries preparing for our next adventure - an expedition cruise to Antarctica.  Linda and I cruised to Antarctica 18 years ago.  Here is a photo from that cruise.  I'll take a comparable one in a few days.

This time we will be cruising on the Quark Ultramarine, an expedition ship with 199 passengers.  Here's a photo of the ship and a map of the itinerary.

As you can see, we will be crossing the Antarctic Circle.  Not many ships do that.  You might ask, "why are you going back to Antarctica?"  Well, for one thing, it is a beautiful place with abundant wildfire.  More importantly, we are joining our daughter, Amy, and granddaughter, Emma, on this trip.  Amy retired in October and this is her retirement trip.  It will mark their 7th continent.  Yep, that's all of them.

Tomorrow, Quark will fly us down to Ushuaia, Argentina to get on the ship.  We'll be crossing the Drake Passage which can be an adventure in itself, but it looks like the crossing will not be bad.  Fingers crossed.

There is internet on the ship though I'm not sure how good it will be that far south.  Hopefully, I'll be able to do some posts.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
