Fish Islands and crossing the Antarctica Circle

Sunday morning we went on a zodiac cruise around the Fish Islands.  Where we were stopped was yet another beautiful location.  The highlight of the zodiac cruise were the large colonies of Adelie penguins.  There were also cormorants interspersed with the colonies.

Nice photos, eh?  But here is the award winner (if I do say so myself!).

Our excellent guide, Greg, picked up a piece of glacial ice.  He brought it back to the ship and that evening I had a cocktail with a piece of the ice.

At about 9:30pm we crossed the Antarctic Circle and they put on the kiss the fish ceremony after which we were officially stamped.

Monday we went further south with a plan for 2 more excursions.  Watch for the next post.

Peace and blessings,
Linda, Larry, Amy and Emma
