It's Cornwall not Cornhole!

Sunday was a welcome, quiet sea day highlighted by the Godmother's Brunch.

Monday we were in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK.  We opted for an Oceania excursion that took us to St. Mawes.  It started with a brief bus ride through Falmouth before arriving at the ferry pier.

It was about a 15 minute ferry ride to St. Mawes.

Then we were given a walking tour of St. Mawes.

After the walking tour, it was time for cream tea.  What, you may ask, is cream tea?  Don't feel bad, we didn't know either.  Turns out, cream tea is tea and scones.  We were instructed that the proper way to prepare your scone in Cornwall is to put on the jam first and then the clotted cream.  We complied.

Given some free time, we walked up to the castle for the views.

On the way back, we visited the church.  The streets were steep!

We had time to walk about a bit before re-boarding the ferry for the ride back to Falmouth.  The photo of Victoria House is especially for our granddaughter Leila who is a big fan of Queen Victoria.

The weather was nice and it was a good excursion.  A nice way to spend our first visit to Cornwall.  And the sail away was also nice.

The UK brings our country count to 4.

Making sure that we ate our scones properly brings to mind some of the Rules of Civility, particularly Number 97:

Put not another bit into your mouth till the former is swallowed. Let not your morsels be too big for the jowls.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
