Wednesday was a day at sea before our arrival in Keelung, Taiwan. The sea day really started the evening before when we had dinner with GM Emma and Executive Concierge Marlenia in Jacques. It was a wonderful 3 hour dinner.
That night, it was quite windy with a bit of swell which led to some motion. By the morning, things had calmed down quite a bit and the rest of the day was smooth sailing. We took part in the Cellar Master's Classic Wine Lunch which included 6 courses paired with 6 wines. The food and wine was outstanding (okay, Linda didn't like one of the wines). You'll see on the menu that there was a Beef Wellington. Since we don't eat meat, they made us a special fish dish, a stuffed sea bass which might have been the best of the dishes.
In the evening, we had dinner with Food & Beverage Manager Gorica and Executive Cellar Master Milan in Red Ginger. More good food and wine and conversation that lasted close to 3 hours again.
Today we are in Keelung.
From the port, the main destination is Taipei. However, since we've been to Taipei, we decided to just stay in Keelung and enjoy the sights. We set off from the ship and made the long walk through the terminal to the city. Our impression of the place is that it is an old, industrial port city.
Our first destination was the night market, which is open all day. Many food stalls.
It was a long walk back to the ship with Linda putting in about 4 miles. We welcomed the warmer weather with temperatures in the upper 60's.
Tomorrow is another sea day before we arrive in the Philippines on Saturday. There, we'll probably be complaining about how hot it is!
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
