Since my last post, we sailed off of the coast of Oman for a couple of days. We knew that we were in safer waters since even the birds came out to fly along side.
On that note, I saw a news item reporting that a missile from Yemen struck a commercial vessel just about 1 hour after we cleared the strait out of the Red Sea. Phew!!!!
They apparently target ships that they think have a connection to Israel. Fortunately they don't realize that Jews cruise!
Now, back to better stuff. The days continued to fly by. Here's a taste of some of the things we've done. Wednesday evening we had a lovely dinner with a couple of the entertainers, Casey and Robbie. They are literally a couple as they are engaged to be married this coming summer. What a terrific couple. We see great things in their future with Oceania.
The big day was yesterday, Saturday. We started with participating in Cruise Director Paul's Majority Rules Trivia. Such fun. Then it was off to the final Bingo of the cruise with the so-called Snowball Jackpot. Well, the first 2 games were a bust. And then, game I hit the Bingo with a winning of a mere $126. And then . . . the coverall game and Bingo again, this time winning the snowball jackpot of $849!!!! And here I am with my $975.
The evening event was very special - a dinner under the stars. As we walked around the pool deck we watched the crew setting things up.
Then it was time for dinner. This was the first time that any Oceania ship had put on such an event and they did a spectacular job.
The evening was capped off with the moon shining as the crew came out for a special Salute.
We are so very impressed with how General Manager Emma and her entire staff and crew handled this unusual cruise. They truly made the best of a bad situation. And now we transition to a cruise with many ports and many new places for us to explore.
Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry

ReplyDeleteEnjoy Abu Dhabi.

Feel so bad for the crew. 8 straight sea days must have been exhausting for them.
