Tuesday was another of those relaxing days at sea as we sailed along the coast of Cuba. Look at the photos. Even the little bird that visited us was quite relaxed. What more do I need to say.
Wednesday we were at Grand Cayman. Originally, we were supposed to be anchored off of George Town and our plan was to go visit all of the money that we had stashed there.😄 But, due to the weather we had to anchor in Spotts Bay which, if memory serves me right, was exactly what happened the last time we were there. Deja vu, all over again. It was a morning with recurring rain showers.
We watched the weather radar which seemed to show that the rain would be ending. Finally, at about 11:00 we got on a tender intending to walk to Spotts Beach for a swim. Coincidentally, the other ship anchored in Spotts Bay was also named Vista - the Carnival Vista. What a contrast with their 4000 passengers versus our 1200! Once ashore, a difference was obvious. The line for their tender was quite long.
We took the 10 minute walk to the beach passing the cemetery nearby. Nice place to rest in peace.
After settling on the sand, I went for a quick swim.
It didn't take long for the rain to start again so we packed up and headed back to the tender pier. At first it was a refreshing light sprinkle which turned into a steadier rain. Back at the pier, the difference between Oceania and Carnival was even more obvious. Their line was ridiculously long as they stood in the rain.
Back on board it was another pleasant evening. We have been taking advantage of one of the new venues - the Founder's Bar. They make some unique cocktails and we have yet to try one that we didn't like.
Today is another day at sea and tomorrow we'll be in Cartegena, Columbia. And then it's through the Panama Canal.
Peace, blessings, and crookedness,
Linda and Larry
All of these cocktails - has the wine gone bad on Oceania?
