A Day in Naples and Then Deja Vu All Over Again

Wednesday we were in Naples (Italy not Florida or California).  We had another hosted excursion which took us to Campi Flegrei for scenic views of fields and lakes.  Sadly, it was a mostly rainy day which put a damper on things (pun intended).  We were able to get some views, including a smoldering volcano outside of Naples.

Ultimately, we arrived at a restaurant and winery for lunch.  After lunch the rain stopped so we were able to walk around a bit.

Naples has won the Italian football league championship and many homes and businesses are decorated in blue to celebrate.

Today, Thursday, is the deja vu day.  Last year when we were on board Riviera, we were in Covid quarantine when the ship docked in Sardinia.  All we got to see of it was the view from our veranda.  We were excited to return as we have never been to Sardinia.  The weather looked great if a bit windy as we sailed in.

As we were eating breakfast, we noticed the pilot boat circling around us and then the ship began a slow turn and sailed away from Olbia.  We knew immediately that it was deja vu all over again and that we would miss Sardinia again.  Maybe next time!

Tomorrow is our last port of call on this cruise, Ajaccio, Corsica.  That is another place we haven't been to which we also missed last year due to Covid quarantine. The weather forecast looks good so, fingers crossed, we'll finally get there.

Peace and blessings,

Linda and Larry
