Our Return to Sydney

As I said in my last post, we were warned about rough seas as we departed Port Arthur. It was definitely windy with lots of whitecaps as we sailed away.
Thankfully, the rough seas did not hit until the middle of the night and boy did we get rocked.  By the morning, things had calmed significantly and we had a rather pleasant day of sailing.  We even got to see another pod of dolphins.  I wasn't quick enough with the camera but you can see Linda pointing out a splash.
This morning we sailed into Sydney bright and early.  Unfortunately by the time I got up to the fitness track for my morning jog, we had already passed the opera house and sailed under the bridge into White Bay.  It was still a nice sunrise.
Our friend Meredith, who we met on a cruise about 20 years ago and who lives in Sydney, picked us up at the port and we spent a wonderful day walking along the shore from Barangaroo to Circular Quay.  The weather was perfect, the lunch was good, and it was great to catch up with Meredith.

After our day on shore, we got to experience one of the great cruising events - the sail away from Sydney under the iconic bridge and iconic opera house.

Tomorrow is a day at sea before arriving in Melbourne for a 2 night stay.

Today's truism is a falsehood: OLD FRIENDS ARE BETTER LEFT IN THE PAST.  Spending the day with Meredith today definitely debunked that!

Peace and blessings,
Linda and Larry
