Here we are, cruising along the Saone River on our way from Tournus to Chalon-sur-Saone, which will be our last stop on the cruise.
We arrived in Tournus yesterday afternoon and after dinner we took a walk around the sleepy town. The dusk views were nice.
The most amazing thing was discovering a photo of myself on a table in the chateau. I have no idea how they got that! Perhaps they were a part of my family that I didn't know about.
A couple of people asked about the Lyon hotel saga that I talked about in the last post. We originally booked an apartment in Lyon for our 5 night stay. That is generally what we like to do when we stay in a city. However . . . with the forecast for temperatures nearing 100 degrees I looked again at the apartment and found that it had no A/C. Also, we discovered that we would have to check in at one location and then go to the apartment which was some distance away. When we inquired about that, they said we could take a bus to the apartment! Schlepping our luggage - I don't think so. We also thought about cancelling our Lyon stay but the fee to change our flights were too much. So, we cancelled the apartment and found a hotel with A/C. We'll just have to suck it up, get out early in the motning, go to museums and enjoy the good food that Lyon is known for. It's a tough life!
Till next time,
Peace and Blessings,
Linda and Larry
